Principal’s Message

Rose Valley Elementary School is a learning community grateful to be located on the spectacular, traditional unceded territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) People.
It is a joy to serve the tight knit Rose Valley Elementary community. The vibrant and positive spirit that resonates through the hallways from students and staff alike sets the stage for lifelong learners to thrive and grow.
Our number one goal is to “learn together.”  This means that every community member’s voice, child and adult, is equally valuable as we set the course of our learning as partners.

Our collaboratively created vision and values:

"We are a collaborative learning community. We all belong, have purpose, and strive to be contributing global citizens. We value respect, responsibility, kindness and community."

Our passions include play-based and nature-based learning, promoting inquiry and leading children to ask their own questions so they drive their own learning.  We also believe that ongoing learning conversations between our children, their parents and our educators are fuel that motivate our children to continue engaging in their learning journeys.
Supporting each other and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do at Rose Valley.  If you want to get involved with our community, our Parent Advisory Committee is a great place to start.  Click on "Parents" and "PAC" above.

I believe that all learning happens in the context of strong relationships.  As such, I always welcome conversations with parents, students and anyone else who wants to speak about learning.

At Rose Valley Elementary, we Respect and Value Everyone!
Mr. Tim Van Brummelen
